Every edge location is a network perimeter. Standalone firewall appliances are expensive, require specialist configuration, and drift out of policy the moment the technician who set them up moves on.

TekkioFirewall integrates network security directly into the Tekkio platform. Policy is defined once in TekkioHub, enforced identically at every site, and updated remotely without a truck roll. For operators managing hundreds of locations with no on-site IT, it is the difference between a security posture you can actually verify and one you can only hope is still in place.

TekkioFirewall is deliberately scoped to what multi-site operators actually need: clean perimeter control and easy, consistent administration. Rather than a separate management console to learn, firewall configuration lives directly inside each unit's screen in TekkioHub — if a unit needs a port exposed externally, that option is right there alongside its other settings. There is no separate policy system to maintain and no specialist required to keep rules current. When a rule changes in TekkioHub, it propagates to all sites automatically; sites that are temporarily offline receive the update the next time they check in, so no location permanently escapes a policy change.

One of TekkioFirewall's more capable features is multi-connection failover — whether that is two WAN links or a primary cable connection with a 5G cell backup. Units are assigned a priority tier, and when available uplink capacity is constrained, lower-priority units are blocked rather than allowed to degrade the connection for higher-priority workloads. The network does the triage automatically, without on-site intervention.

TekkioFirewall is not a replacement for a high-availability enterprise appliance in a large datacenter — it is a replacement for the mid-range hardware box that most multi-site retail and restaurant operators are deploying at each location today: procured separately, configured on-site, and effectively unauditable at scale. For environments with PCI-DSS obligations, having network perimeter policy defined centrally, versioned in TekkioHub, and uniformly applied across every location provides a significantly cleaner compliance posture than a fleet of independently configured appliances that may or may not still match the policy they were set up with.
